11. It’s a good idea to assemble a list of webmaster tools on your website; that way you will get a lot of webmasters dropping in who want access to these tools. A good example to check out is Aaron Wall’s webpage which can be found on SEOtools.

12. Working through Digg and StumbledUpon will normally result in large amounts of traffic dropping in on your website, and this too will improve your Alexa ranking. You’ll need to deploy some compelling copy to generate interest.

13. The use of Pay per Click is a helpful tool. Distributed via Google, Yahoo, Exact Seek, and MSN, this will also help to generate significant volumes of traffic to your website. If your copy piques the interest of fellow webmasters, that can only be even more helpful.

14. Try starting up an Alexa blog so you can broadcast any news or articles related to Alexa. This can be located easily by webmasters and casual visitors alike, and will also contribute to higher ranking with the search engines.

15. If you have any well visited posts out there in cyberspace, deploy a widget on it/them and then back link it/them to your Alexa blog or make use of the Alexa redirection.

16. Using banners and back links in webmaster forums, and on their websites can also drive substantial amounts of interested traffic your way. And once again, this will boost your ranking with the search engines.

17. Making use of forum posters is another strategy that can help. You can purchase signatures in the webmaster’s forums and/or place special articles regularly on your website. Digital Point and other Webmaster forums have posters that you can hire out.

18. Go out and find some local cyber-cafes and negotiate with their owners to install the Alexa toolbar whilst also resetting their browsers to look at your homepage. This may not be quite as easy as it sounds but it is certainly worth a try. You never know!

19. MySpace is another media outlet that you can try although it’s a somewhat artificial way of boosting your Alexa rank. Using attractive visuals is the key to this strategy linked to the Alexa URL redirect. Where your content is relevant to the MySpace crowd, this idea can add significant traffic.

20. Why not evaluate the Alex auto-surfs? It is suspected that they work best on new sites that have low Alexa ranking, but it’s also worth knowing that there appear to be difficulties in trying to deploy auto-surfs and contextual ads (like Adsense) together. Please note that these are not seen as long term solutions so proceed cautiously.
